Broccoli, sesame and bananas are a natural weapon to combat bone loss…
In order to preempt and prevent osteoporosis, it is important to take care of the diet from an early age.
In adolescence it is of great importance that the young people are physically active, as this encourages the growth and development of the bones. We present you three foods that have most of the necessary ingredients for healthy and strong bones.
Broccoli is best eaten raw
Broccoli (Brassica oleracea) belongs to the family of green vegetables, which provides sufficient protein and minerals, especially calcium. It is best consumed in its raw state as a salad, and then fried in a little oil or boiled steamed, considering that in the thermal treatment it loses many of its important ingredients.
The abundance of minerals, calcium, magnesium, potassium and iron, makes it to the top charts of foods to preserve bone health, and health in general. When preparing, broccoli should be cooked in boiling salted water, for five, six minutes. In this way it preserves the most beneficial ingredients, as well as crisp and nice taste.
Thus cooked can be served in several ways:
• Spicy sesame seeds and lemon juice.
• As simple delicious soup with cooked cauliflower, in which they add spices to taste.
• In the form of omelet with flowers and chopped stems.
• With cooked pasta with the addition of chopped peanuts and olive oil.
Sesame with yoghurt
Sesame (Sesamum indicum) is one of the most useful supplements in the diet against osteoporosis, while sesame oil is considered a high-quality, and is often used as a substitute for olive oil.
In large quantities there is also the extremely important calcium, manganese, copper, magnesium and selenium. For those who do not have enough calcium in the body, sesame is the right choice. Soak just one tablespoon of the seeds in 0.5-ounce yogurt and leave it for the night. In the morning eat everything on an empty stomach, and repeat the process continuously.
Eat ‘spotted’ bananas
Banana is not only the fruit of satisfaction, but also an effective fruit that can replace a complete meal or supplement nutrition. It is effective against osteoporosis because it is rich in minerals: potassium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, as well as folic acid.
The banana also contains vitamins responsible for maintaining bone density. It is interesting that the scientists insist on eating ripe, “spotted” banana, because the green ones include protein in their development stage, which according to research, counteracts the action of certain enzymes important for the metabolic processes in the body, and consequently the processes that ensures the health and quality of the bones.
Bananas can also be consumed dried, which improve the metabolism, and all of the useful ingredients are contained more, which makes them even more effective.
CURE OF THE ANCIENT GREEKS
For the remedy against osteoporosis, which was used by the ancient Greeks, you should prepare 10 tablespoons of ground flaxseed, five tablespoons of ground sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, grains of wheat, sunflower seeds, three tablespoons of raisins and a kilogram of clover honey.
Blend all these ingredients well with a wooden spoon or spatula, and then pour the mixture into a glass jar.Take one spoon before breakfast and lunch.
