What are cucamelons?

They originate from Mexico and Central America but have recently become very popular n the United States. The fruits are about the size of grapes and taste like cucumbers with a tinge of sourness. They grow on vines and need about 80 days to grow from seed to full-grown fruits. They can be found on almost every farmer’s market lately but you can also grow them easily at home.

How to Enjoy Cucamelons
Cucamelons can be eaten raw, sprinkled with some salt and dried herbs of your choosing or add them in salads or salsa as well. You can toss them with olives, slivers of pepper and a drizzle of olive oil. Preparing pickled cucamelons is so easy – we recommend pre-salting them for more crisp result and a much faster pickling process.
